The BS program offered by the department focuses on producing high quality computer scientists with a broad vision and strong ethical values. In order to produce graduates with well balanced personalities, general awareness of social issues and basic reasoning capabilities are inculcated into students, through a number a general courses in the area of humanities, social sciences, religion, ethics, language and communication skill, along with the core and elective courses of the discipline. The overall program provides a highly conducive environment and an excitement driven approach that encourages creativity to accomplish results. The curriculum for BS CS program contains 5 elective courses (15 SCH). The students are offered elective courses in different streams, so that they can specialize in the area of their interest.


The graduates of the program of Bachelors of Computer Systems Engineering will be equipped with skills to demonstrate an understanding of key technologies applicable within the main areas of Computer Systems Engineering. The main objectives of this program are:

  PEO-1 To produce practicing and employable engineers who have sound theoretical foundation and practical capabilities in computer engineering to serve in industry, academia and related organizations.
  PEO-2 To produce graduates who can use their up to date knowledge of automation and distributed systems along with problem solving techniques and modern tools to solve complex design problems in the field of computer systems engineering and its applications.
  PEO-3 To produce engineers who know the social, ethical, and environmental aspects of their work.
  PEO-4 To produce computer engineers who have good leadership skills and can work effectively in a team.
  PEO-5 To produce graduates who can stay current with technological and IT innovations through lifelong learning, higher education or research.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

   PLO-1 Knowledge:

Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

  PLO-2 Problem Analysis:

Ability to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

  PLO-3 Design/Development of Solutions:

Ability to design solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

  PLO-4 Investigation

Ability to investigate complex engineering problems in a methodical way including literature survey, design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and synthesis of information to derive valid conclusions.

  PLO-5 Modern Tool Usage:

Ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate or A-levels or Equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or IBCC equivalence.

  • This is a four years’ degree program comprising of 8 semesters. There is a Fall and a Spring semester in each year. The summer semester is utilized for internship or deficiency courses. The maximum duration to complete the BE program is 7 years.


Sr. Requirement
1. Each candidate of BE (Computer Systems Engineering) is required to complete successfully 134 credit hours with a minimum 2.0 of 4.0 CGPA.
2. It is mandatory for every student to complete a senior design project after the 6th semester or to complete 90 credit hours of course work. Internship.
3. All students have to undergo a mandatory 6-8-week internship arranged by the placement office. The internship is normally taken after passing 60 credit hours. The internship is closely monitored by an internship coordinator. Successful completion of internship is a mandatory requirement for graduation.
